I have a relatively small (compared to some) comic collection which started last year with Doomsday Clock and escalated rather quickly when I discovered some of the other great titles available. However, many of my comics are unread, not through choice but I just struggle to find the time to read. This problem appears to be mainly because by the time a month has gone by, I completely forget what happened in the last issue, and I find myself starting the whole title from scratch. Clearly, this is not a sustainable manner of going about things. I have therefore started writing a few paragraphs for myself at the end of each issue about what has just happened, with the intention being that I can use this to refresh my memory about any significant events before starting the next episode. I didn’t start doing this with the intention of uploading them here, but I was thinking of a way that I could easily get access to these logs from wherever I am, and putting them on the website seemed the most straight forward.
I am under no illusions that this section will hold any interest for anyone other than someone who has an identical comic collection to me. It’s mainly for my own benefit but if you find yourself browsing here, then you are very welcome. I plan to gradually upload my logs as I get through them and then hopefully keep them up to date as and when new issues of a running series come out.
I should also emphasise that this is not meant to replace reading the comics. My recaps are merely summaries which do not improve on the writing and art made by the creators. As I’ve gone on, I’ve also found myself chipping in with my thoughts on what’s going on – these bits are in italics.
